Epic Universe Rides

These Rides at Epic Universe Are Worth Every Minute of the Wait

Epic Universe is turning theme park days into something entirely new. With the buzz around this major new destination, you’ve probably heard about the attractions, but the real question still stands: which Epic Universe rides are absolutely worth the wait?

From star-powered coasters to jaw-dropping story-driven adventures, these must-do attractions don’t just meet expectations… they launch them into an entirely new galaxy.

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry

For fans of wizarding adventures, this is one of the best rides at Epic Universe (and maybe any theme park), a fully immersive journey that makes you feel like you stepped right into the story. Spells fly, the drama unfolds, and the effects pull you straight into the heart of the action.

The combination of massive screens and incredibly detailed animatronics makes the world feel unbelievably real. Even the queue is an experience in itself. Single rider is offered here, but it cuts off most of the queue (except the atrium) and can still take a while. The better option for a shorter wait is Express Pass which is now offered at this attraction. More time for a butterbeer? Absolutely.

Stardust Racers

If speed is your love language, Stardust Racers is your dream ride. This dual-track coaster launches you through space at speeds up to 60 mph, with two trains racing side-by-side for an extra shot of adrenaline.

The sweeping cosmic views, unexpected airtime, and that wild feeling of racing another coaster, it’s no surprise this is already one of the most talked-about Epic Universe rides. Some say it’s even better than Velocicoaster at Universal Studios Florida.

Want to cut down the wait? The single rider line and Universal Express Pass are both great options to keep you moving.

Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

For classic monster fans, this is a dark ride you can’t skip. You’ll creep through Frankenstein Manor as legendary creatures come to life all around you, Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and more.

The seamless blend of screens and animatronics makes this attraction truly stand out among the must-do rides at Epic Universe. If you’re riding solo, the single rider line can be a time-saver, but if it’s your first time riding I don’t recommend doing single rider because it cuts off the amazing pre-shows that explain the attraction. This attraction is extremely efficient and often has a short wait at several points during the day. So just come back a little later if the line is longer than you want to wait. Express is accepted here too and does not cut out either pre-show.

Mine-Cart Madness

Fans of Donkey Kong will lose their minds over this one. Mine-Cart Madness uses a next-level ride system that makes you feel like you’re actually leaping from track to track, just like the games.

It’s fast, fun, and full of surprises, but still approachable enough for younger riders. The single rider option helps shorten the wait if you’re okay splitting up. It has also recently been added to Express Pass. If you’re headed to Donkey Kong Country, make this your priority. There’s truly nothing else like it.

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

If you’ve ever shouted at your TV during a Mario Kart race, prepare to live out the chaos in real life. This interactive attraction uses AR goggles to layer characters and effects onto the real sets around you.

It’s not a high-speed ride, it’s all about collecting coins, firing shells, and working together as a team. With a slow-moving track and playful mechanics, it’s a perfect all-ages option and one of the top family-friendly Epic Universe rides. Express and single rider both help keep your wait shorter. Note that single rider will skip most of the queue and the pre-show.

Constellation Carousel

Ready for a breather between the big thrills? This cosmic carousel floats you through a dreamy, star-filled world. Each celestial creature gracefully rises, spins, and glows with gorgeous lighting that feels peaceful and enchanting.

It’s a wonderful all-ages pick and a great way to slow down without losing the magic. Express Pass is accepted here if you want to skip ahead. Riding after dark is a superior experience, just know the line tends to be longer after the sun goes down.

Dragon Racer’s Rally

Little dragon-riders will be in heaven here. Inspired by How to Train Your Dragon, this gliding attraction lets you control your dragon’s movement, spin, swoop, or take it easy.

It’s the perfect balance of fun and family-friendly adventure, offering sweeping views of Berk and a sense of being part of the story. There’s no Express access for this one, so plan to hit it earlier in the day for the shortest waits. It’s actually the only ride currently not offering Express Pass.

The Rides Are Epic. Your Plan Should Be, Too.

Choosing the best rides at Epic Universe is only one part of your adventure. Timing, crowd flow, transportation, ticket strategies, and knowing when to slow down all play a huge role in keeping your day smooth and enjoyable.

That’s exactly where I come in. I help families map out smart park-day strategies so the fun stays front and center, and the stress stays far, far away. When your plan is tailored to you, everything feels easier. And remember, the rides aren’t the only must-do’s at Epic Universe. For most people they are big part, but the shows, character meet & greets (especially Toothless), snacks, drinks, & extremely immersive lands make the park truly EPIC!
